Nine factions
Every faction is a meme this chain actually rallied around, scored on culture before market cap. Each one has lore, a kart built from that lore, a racing archetype, and a stat spread the engine really uses.
The grid
Silhouette first, because that constraint is not negotiable: cat with a cash fist, seated detective dog, shaggy mop with a bandana, low-crouch frog, chin-on-paw cat, open-mouth yowler with a glow, breaded slab with limbs, staff-carrying heavyweight, small capped bird. No two share body mass and posture and species.

How balance works
Stats are presentation. Expected win rates are equalized underneath them, through handling-aware AI corner speeds, item luck weighted inverse to raw speed, and a per-faction rubber-band coefficient. Visible identity, invisible fairness. There is no meta faction and there is no bad kart NFT.
The numbers below come from npm run balance in the game package: 648 headless Grand Prix races, all AI, across all three tracks, rotating pole position and lineups. Even would be 16.7%.

CashCat
Before Robinhood was Robinhood, the working name was Cash Cat. Vlad Tenev confirmed it himself in April 2021, tracing back to a New Yorker profile. Ten minutes after mainnet went live on 2026-07-01 somebody made it a ticker. By 2026-08-06 it was listed inside the actual Robinhood app, up 151% in fifteen hours.
The Fistful. A bank-vault-bodied roadster with panels banded like cash bundles, a vault-door nose that swings open under boost, and coin-stack rims. The steering wheel is the cash wad gripped in one paw. Braking spends the money and bills flutter off the back.

Pipedog
A Shiba in a deerstalker with a pipe, asking the only question that matters: is it pipe? Launched 2026-07-28 through PipePad, did over 140x inside hours, and was on KuCoin nine days later. The gag is Magritte, and the joke gets funnier the more seriously the kart takes itself.
Ceci N'est Pas Un Kart. One giant briar smoking pipe laid horizontal. Bowl at the rear as the engine cowl, stem as the monocoque, bit as the front splitter. Longest wheelbase on the grid. A single magnifying-glass headlight, and smoke rings that double as the drift trail.

Brodie
Robinhood had an office dog in 2016. His name was Brodie, and there is a tweet from the company account to prove it. The founder of PONS, the launchpad that ran more than half the chain's transactions by late July, brought him back as a token. Deepest real provenance of any dog on the chain.
The Office Special. A 2016 startup desk chair fused to a mail cart. Five-caster base, standing-desk top for a body, water-cooler bottle as the fuel tank, paper-shredder exhaust puffing shredded memos. The steering is a leash loop. It wags at idle.

FRONG
A Uniswap Labs product designer cut a teaser video for an unreleased launchpad. The metadata leaked his identity, the community reverse-engineered the contract out of it, and he ended up minting FRONG himself through an unmerged pull request, six days before the launchpad went live. Block 23,595,790, 2026-07-30 at 20:16:59 UTC. He never bought, never sold, never claimed the fees. Hayden Adams replied to it with a frog emoji.
Build #464 (Unreleased). A pre-production pool-skimmer prototype in night-vision monochrome, panels still untextured, watermarked INTERNAL DO NOT SHIP. Lilypad wheels, bubbles instead of exhaust, and a git-branch fork for a tiller. The dashboard countdown is still running.

HMM
The thinking cat, and the PONS era's flagship. Kaleo called it the WIF of Robinhood Chain around 2026-07-19, which is either a blessing or a curse, and HMM is still deciding. The underlying thinking-cat template predates the chain, which is exactly why our version is an original illustrated cat and not a redraw of anyone's photo.
The Deliberator. A thinking pod shaped like a lowercase question mark in profile: the curve arcs over the seat, the dot is the front wheel pod. Furrowed-brow grille, ellipsis puffs for exhaust, a dashboard abacus, and an idea bulb that only lights during a boost.

MowCat
Green candles, bad decisions, and one very loud cat. The healthiest original mascot on the chain and the most visually developed, with six canonical scene variants and no press moment at all. It is the only faction identifiable in pure black silhouette, because the glow survives the crop.
Green Candle Dragster. A top-fuel dragster whose body is one enormous green candlestick, wick as the antenna, small red candles embedded as failed brake ducts. Ticker-tape tread on the rear slicks. It steers with a keyboard, because the cat sat on it and refused to move. Crash it and it flips red.

TENDIES
4chan good boy points became WallStreetBets profit slang became a token on Robinhood Chain, ATH 2026-07-17. The logo is a photograph of a single chicken tender on a green field. There is no character to copy, so ours is invented from nothing: a breaded slab with stubby limbs and a racing visor. Lowest IP risk on the grid, best silhouette on the grid.
The Fryer. An industrial fryer basket on wheels with the tender half-submerged like it is still cooking. Honey-mustard-dispenser ram bumper, crinkle-cut fry rims, a waffle-fry spare, and a grease-fire afterburner under a CAUTION HOT placard. Upholstery reads GOOD BOY POINTS REDEEMED.

Little John
The folklore that named the company, and the only human on the grid. The token itself is down over 99% from its high with wash-flagged volume, which is precisely why it is scarce rather than absent: 180 pieces turn a dying ticker into a rare heavyweight. Public domain source, and no relation to the Disney bear.
The Quarterstaff Cart. A medieval ox cart re-engineered as a war wagon. Rough oak beams, rope lashings, iron-banded cartwheels, a river-bridge plank for a bumper and a ski rack of quarterstaffs at the back. No exhaust, because a churning water wheel provides the push. Everyone else built a machine. He strapped wheels to a log.

Robin
Not the frog and not the company. The bird. Bankless documented it as a first-wave native meme and the community greeting is Welcome to the Flock. 120 exist, which is 4% of the collection and the smallest faction by some distance. The cap green is deliberately a different green from Robinhood's, and the design never reads as their mascot.
The Nest Egg. A woven-nest monocoque cupped around a cracked-open egg cockpit. Beak fairing, twig handlebars, berry-round wheels, a tail-feather spoiler fan, and a puff of down for exhaust. Nearly airborne over every crest. On Robin's tracks the hoarding hawks watch from the high perches.
